BUBBLEFLIGHT
Opera In Space
This was a wonderful project which I was lucky enough to be able to photograph. A group of artists, all focused on the performance of Opera, were rehearsing their latest piece in a church in North London, where it was soon to be performed. I had just taken ownership of a new camera, a Canon Eos 5D MkII and this was a perfect time to learn its features. I was using it with a manual legacy film lens, a Carl Zeiss 35-7Omm T* Sonnar, and a custom made adaptor. It was a great day and hard work for several hours following the practicing and dress rehearsal but I was pleased with the results in challenging yet rewarding lighting conditions. These combined with the manual focuss meant for some varied results but I feel confident I captured the spirit of the experience with these truly original people.
