Omnichrome

OMNICHROME is potentially a quadrilogy of literary science fiction novels set in the late 21st century featuring, among other characters, a synthetic human who goes by acquired street name of 'EZEE.' The first of these is entitled THE MEMORY REFLEX and is recently self published and available to buy through Amazon. It is cyber-noir in style and imbued with ancient Eastern philosophy. As such it is a hybrid with some depth, and is 82,900 words in length. The novel is square in format and comes in at 380 pages.

The novel was written in an intense two month burst during the first lock down of 2020. I was looking for a new project and using an earlier novel, entitled OMNICHROME, as a reference I decided to expand a small part of it into an entirely new book, a prequel exploring the genesis and development of one of its central characters, EZEE.

This idea quickly snowballed into the possibility of writing a trilogy, which then became a quadrilogy. There is now a plan and a plot directly connecting THE MEMORY REFLEX to OMNICHROME, via the two additional books, the filling in the sandwich...

After producing THE MEMORY REFLEX as an Audio Book I, narrated by myself and published through Audible, I intend to concentrate on writing the second and third books in the quadrilogy. These are already sketched out with some considerable detail. OMNICHROME, the original novel, and now the title of the series, will then be rewritten to create the fourth and final novel. The original novel, has now been removed from sale as a self-published book so as not to give away the ending, although there are surely a few copies around out there somewhere....

The goal has always been to attract the attention of a literary agent and a traditional publisher somewhere along this journey and to see the quadrilogy printed as a set. There is much to do between now and then...

Science fiction is an incredible vehicle through which to express very human stories and the deeper ideas they generate. It is largely this reason which drives my work, and the concepts I seem to discover in these very fictional worlds have a relevance for me in the here and now that I hope will resonate with other peoples lives. Hopefully readers of all ages and interests can create an interpretation of these stories which has meaning for them, using imagination and desire as a motivation and an inspiration.
